भगवद गीता अध्याय 3 श्लोक 5
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 3 Shlok 5 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण कर्म के महत्व को बताते हैं और यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि कोई भी व्यक्ति बिना कर्म किए नहीं रह सकता, क्योंकि हर व्यक्ति को प्रकृति के गुणों के अनुसार कर्म करना ही पड़ता है।
श्लोक:
न हि कश्चित्क्षणमपि जातु तिष्ठत्यकर्मकृत्।
कार्यते ह्यवशः कर्म सर्वः प्रकृतिजैर्गुणैः ॥५॥
Transliteration:
na hi kaśhchit kṣhaṇam api jātu tiṣhṭhatyakarma-kṛit
kāryate hyavaśhaḥ karma sarvaḥ prakṛiti-jair guṇaiḥ
अर्थ:
प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को प्रकृति से अर्जित गुणों के अनुसार विवश होकर कर्म करना पड़ता है, अतः कोई भी एक क्षणभर के लिए भी बिना कर्म किये नहीं रह सकता।
Meaning:
Every individual is compelled to perform actions according to the qualities acquired from nature. Therefore, no one can remain without performing actions even for a moment.
तात्पर्य:
यह देहधारी जीवन का प्रश्न नहीं है, अपितु आत्मा का यह स्वभाव है कि वह सदैव सक्रिय रहता है। आत्मा की अनुपस्थिति में भौतिक शरीर हिल भी नहीं सकता। यह शरीर मृत वाहन के समान है, जो आत्मा द्वारा चालित होता है क्योंकि आत्मा सदैव गतिशील (सक्रिय) रहता है और वह एक क्षण के लिए भी नहीं रुक सकता।
अतः आत्मा को कृष्णभावनामृत के सत्कर्म में प्रवृत्त रखना चाहिए अन्यथा वह माया द्वारा शासित कार्यों में प्रवृत्त होता रहेगा। माया के संसर्ग में आकर आत्मा भौतिक गुण प्राप्त कर लेता है और आत्मा को ऐसे आकर्षणों से शुद्ध करने के लिए यह आवश्यक है कि शास्त्रों द्वारा आदिष्ट कर्मों में इसे संलग्न रखा जाय। किन्तु यदि आत्मा कृष्णभावनामृत के अपने स्वाभाविक कर्म में निरत रहता है, तो वह जो भी करता है उसके लिए कल्याणप्रद होता है।
This is not a question of physical life, but the nature of the soul is to always remain active. Without the soul, the physical body cannot even move. The body is like a dead vehicle, which is driven by the soul, because the soul is always dynamic and cannot stop even for a moment. Therefore, the soul should be engaged in righteous activities like Krishna consciousness, otherwise, it will continue to be involved in the actions governed by Maya (illusion). When the soul comes into contact with Maya, it acquires material qualities, and to purify the soul from these attractions, it is necessary to engage it in actions prescribed by the scriptures. However, if the soul remains engaged in its natural duty of Krishna consciousness, everything it does will be beneficial and lead to the ultimate welfare.
