भगवद गीता अध्याय 9 श्लोक 18
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 9 Shlok 18 में श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं को लक्ष्य, रक्षक, शरणदाता, साक्षी, प्रिय मित्र, सृष्टि के कारण और आश्रय रूप में प्रकट करते हैं। वे ही सभी का आधार और अविनाशी बीज हैं।
श्लोक:
गतिर्भर्ता प्रभुः साक्षी निवासः शरणं सुहृत्।
प्रभवः प्रलयः स्थानं निधानं बीजमव्ययम्॥१८॥
Transliteration:
gatir bhartā prabhuḥ sākṣhī nivāsaḥ śharaṇaṁ suhṛit
prabhavaḥ pralayaḥ sthānaṁ nidhānaṁ bījam avyayam
अर्थ:
मैं ही लक्ष्य, पालनकर्ता, स्वामी, साक्षी, धाम, शरणस्थली तथा अत्यन्त प्रिय मित्र; सृष्टि तथा प्रलय, सबका आधार, आश्रय तथा अविनाशी बीज भी हूँ।
Meaning:
I am the goal, the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge, and the dearest friend. I am the origin, the dissolution, the resting place, and the eternal seed of all existence.
तात्पर्य:
गति का अर्थ है गन्तव्य या लक्ष्य, जहाँ हम जाना चाहते हैं। लेकिन चरमलक्ष्य तो कृष्ण हैं, यद्यपि लोग इसे जानते नहीं। जो कृष्ण को नहीं जानता वह पथभ्रष्ट हो जाता है और उसकी तथाकथित प्रगति या तो आंशिक होती है या फिर भ्रमपूर्ण। ऐसे अनेक लोग हैं, जो देवताओं को ही अपना लक्ष्य बनाते हैं और तदनुसार कठोर नियमों का पालन करते हुए चन्द्रलोक, सूर्यलोक, इन्द्रलोक, महर्लोक जैसे विभिन्न लोकों को प्राप्त होते हैं।
किन्तु ये सारे लोक कृष्ण की ही सृष्टि होने के कारण कृष्ण हैं और नहीं भी हैं। ऐसे लोक भी कृष्ण की शक्ति की अभिव्यक्तियाँ होने के कारण कृष्ण हैं, किन्तु वस्तुतः वे कृष्ण की अनुभूति की दिशा में सोपान का कार्य करते हैं। कृष्ण की विभिन्न शक्तियों तक पहुँचने का अर्थ है अप्रत्यक्षतः कृष्ण तक पहुँचना।
अतः मनुष्य को चाहिए कि कृष्ण तक सीधे पहुँचे, क्योंकि इससे समय तथा शक्ति की बचत होगी। उदाहरणार्थ, यदि किसी ऊँची इमारत की चोटी तक एलीवेटर (लिफ्ट) के द्वारा पहुँचने की सुविधा हो तो फिर एक-एक सीढ़ी करके ऊपर क्यों चढ़ा जाये?
सब कुछ कृष्ण की शक्ति पर आश्रित है, अतः कृष्ण की शरण लिये बिना किसी वस्तु का अस्तित्व नहीं हो सकता। कृष्ण परम शासक हैं, क्योंकि सब कुछ उन्हीं का है और उन्हीं की शक्ति पर आश्रित है। प्रत्येक जीव के हृदय में स्थित होने के कारण कृष्ण परम साक्षी हैं।
हमारा घर, देश या लोक जहाँ पर हम रह रहे हैं, सब कुछ कृष्ण का है। शरण के लिए कृष्ण परम गन्तव्य हैं, अतः मनुष्य को चाहिए कि अपनी रक्षा या अपने कष्टों के विनाश के लिए कृष्ण की शरण ग्रहण करे।
हम चाहे जहाँ भी शरण लें, हमें जानना चाहिए कि हमारा आश्रय कोई जीवित शक्ति होनी चाहिए। कृष्ण परम जीव हैं। चूँकि कृष्ण हमारी उत्पत्ति के कारण या हमारे परमपिता हैं, अतः उनसे बढ़कर न तो कोई मित्र हो सकता है, न शुभचिन्तक।
कृष्ण सृष्टि के आदि उद्गम और प्रलय के पश्चात् परम विश्रामस्थल हैं। अतः कृष्ण सभी कारणों के शाश्वत कारण हैं।
The word gatiḥ means destination or ultimate goal. Although people pursue many objectives, the supreme destination is Krishna Himself. Those who are unaware of Krishna’s position are misguided and their progress remains incomplete or illusory. Many worship various demigods and attain higher planetary systems like Chandra-loka, Surya-loka, Indra-loka, or Maharloka.
Yet, all these realms are manifestations of Krishna’s energies they are Krishna and yet distinct. Reaching these places indirectly leads toward Krishna, as they are stepping stones to His realization. However, the wise should directly approach Krishna, saving time and effort just as one prefers an elevator to reach the top of a tall building instead of taking the stairs.
Everything rests on Krishna’s energy; without Him, nothing exists. He is the supreme controller, owner of all, and sustainer of everything. Because He resides in the heart of every living being, He is the supreme witness.
Wherever we reside home, nation, or planetary system it all belongs to Krishna. He is the supreme refuge. Therefore, when seeking protection or freedom from suffering, we should surrender to Krishna alone.
Our shelter must be a living force, and Krishna is that supreme living being. Being our source and father, He is the greatest well-wisher and friend. Krishna is the origin of creation and the resting place after annihilation. He is the eternal seed of all that exists the ultimate cause of all causes.
