भगवद गीता अध्याय 1 का श्लोक 26
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 1 Shlok 26 में अर्जुन युद्ध भूमि के मध्य जब अपने रथ में खड़ा होता है, तब वह दोनों सेनाओं में खड़े अपने आत्मीयजनों को पहचानता है। यह श्लोक अर्जुन की उस भावनात्मक अवस्था को दर्शाता है जहाँ वह युद्ध की विभीषिका में अपने सगे-संबंधियों को देखता है और उसका हृदय द्रवित हो उठता है।
श्लोक:
तत्रापश्यत्स्थितान्यार्थः पितॄनथ पितामहान्।
आचार्यान्मातुलान्भ्रातृन्पुत्रान्पौत्रान्सखींस्तथा।
श्वशुरान्सुहृदश्चैव सेनयोरुभयोरपि ॥२६॥
Transliteration:
tatrāpaśhyat sthitān pārthaḥ pitṝīn atha pitāmahān
āchāryān mātulān bhrātṝīn putrān pautrān sakhīṁs tathā
śhvaśhurān suhṛidaśh chaiva senayor ubhayor api
अर्थ:
अर्जुन ने वहाँ पर दोनों पक्षों की सेनाओं के मध्य में अपने चाचा-ताउओं, पितामहों, गुरुओं, मामाओं, भाइयों, पुत्रों, पौत्रों, मित्रों, ससुरों और शुभचिन्तकों को भी देखा।
Meaning:
There, Arjuna saw his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, fathers-in-law, and well-wishers present on both sides of the army.
तात्पर्य:
अर्जुन युद्धभूमि में अपने सभी सम्बंधियों को देख सका। वह अपने पिता के समकालीन भूरिश्रवा जैसे व्यक्तियों, भीष्म तथा सोमदत्त जैसे पितामहों, द्रोणाचार्य तथा कृपाचार्य जैसे गुरुओं, शल्य तथा शकुनि जैसे मामाओं, दुर्योधन जैसे भाइयों, लक्ष्मण जैसे पुत्रों, अश्वत्थामा जैसे मित्रों एवं कृतवर्मा जैसे शुभचिन्तकों को देख सका।
वह उन सेनाओं को भी देख सका, जिनमें उसके अनेक मित्र थे।
Arjuna was able to see all his relatives on the battlefield. He could see persons like Bhurishrava, contemporaries of his father; grandsires like Bhishma and Somadatta; teachers like Dronacharya and Kripacharya; maternal uncles like Shalya and Shakuni; brothers like Duryodhana; sons like Lakshmana; friends like Ashwatthama; and well-wishers like Kritavarma. He also saw many of his friends among the soldiers.
