भगवद गीता अध्याय 2 श्लोक 56
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 2 Shlok 56 में श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुन को बताते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति दुखों में विचलित नहीं होता, सुख में आसक्त नहीं होता और क्रोध, भय तथा राग से मुक्त रहता है, वही स्थिरबुद्धि मुनि कहलाता है।
श्लोक:
दुःखेष्वनुद्विग्नमनाः सुखेषु विगतस्पृहः ।
वीतरागभयक्रोधः स्थितधीर्मुनिरुच्यते ॥५६॥
Transliteration:
duḥkheṣhv-anudvigna-manāḥ sukheṣhu vigata-spṛihaḥ
vīta-rāga-bhaya-krodhaḥ sthita-dhīr munir uchyate
अर्थ:
जो त्रय तापों के होने पर भी मन में विचलित नहीं होता अथवा सुख में प्रसन्न नहीं होता और जो आसक्ति, भय तथा क्रोध से मुक्त है, वह स्थिर मन वाला मुनि कहलाता है।
Meaning:
The person who remains undisturbed by the threefold afflictions, unaffected by happiness, and free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage with steady wisdom.
तात्पर्य:
मुनि शब्द का अर्थ है वह जो शुष्क चिन्तन के लिए मन को अनेक प्रकार से उद्वेलित करे, किन्तु किसी तथ्य पर न पहुँच सके। कहा जाता है कि प्रत्येक मुनि का अपना-अपना दृष्टिकोण होता है और जब तक एक मुनि अन्य मुनियों से भिन्न न हो तब तक उसे वास्तविक मुनि नहीं कहा जा सकता। न चासावृषिर्यस्य मतं न भिन्नम् (महाभारत, वनपर्व ३१३. ११७ ) किन्तु जिस स्थितधीः मुनि का भगवान् ने यहाँ उल्लेख किया है वह सामान्य मुनि से भिन्न है।
स्थितधीः मुनि सदैव कृष्णभावनाभावित रहता है क्योंकि वह सारा सृजनात्मक चिन्तन पूरा कर चुका होता है। वह प्रशान्त निःशेष मनोरथान्तर (स्तोत्र रत्न ४३ ) कहलाता है या जिसने शुष्कचिन्तन की अवस्था पार कर ली है और इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुँचा है कि भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण या वासुदेव ही सब कुछ हैं (वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः ) वह स्थिरचित्त मुनि कहलाता है।
The term "muni" refers to one who disturbs the mind with various forms of dry contemplation but fails to reach a conclusion. It is said that every sage has his own perspective, and until one sage differs from others, he is not considered a true sage. However, the "sthita-dhi muni" mentioned by Bhagwan here is different from a regular sage. A sage with steady wisdom always remains immersed in Krishna consciousness because he has completed all creative contemplation. He is known as "Prashant Nishesh Manorathantra" or one who has transcended the stage of dry contemplation and has come to the realization that Lord Krishna (or Vasudev) is the ultimate reality (Vasudeva Sarvamiti Sa Mahatma Sudurlabhah). Such a person is called a sage with steady wisdom.
