भगवद गीता अध्याय 8 श्लोक 24
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 8 Shlok 24 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण बताते हैं कि जो आत्माएँ शुभ समय (जैसे अग्नि, प्रकाश, उत्तरायण आदि) में शरीर त्याग करती हैं, वे ब्रह्म को प्राप्त कर जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाती हैं।
श्लोक:
अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम्।
तत्र प्रयाता गच्छन्ति ब्रह्म ब्रह्मविदो जनाः॥२४॥
Transliteration:
agnir jyotir ahaḥ śhuklaḥ ṣhaṇ-māsā uttarāyaṇam
tatra prayātā gachchhanti brahma brahma-vido janāḥ
अर्थ:
जो परब्रह्म के ज्ञाता हैं, वे अग्निदेव के प्रभाव में, प्रकाश में, दिन के शुभक्षण में, शुक्लपक्ष में या जब सूर्य उत्तरायण में रहता है, उन छह मासों में इस संसार से शरीर त्याग करने पर उस परब्रह्म को प्राप्त करते हैं।
Meaning:
Those who know the Supreme Brahman and depart during the influence of fire, light, the bright fortnight, and the six months of the sun’s northern course (Uttarāyaṇa), attain Brahman.
तात्पर्य:
जब अग्नि, प्रकाश, दिन तथा पक्ष का उल्लेख होता है, तो यह समझना चाहिए कि इन सबके अधिष्ठाता देव होते हैं, जो आत्मा की यात्रा की व्यवस्था करते हैं।
मृत्यु के समय मन, आत्मा को नवीन जीवन की ओर ले जाता है। यदि कोई अकस्मात् या योजनापूर्वक उपर्युक्त समय पर शरीर त्याग करता है, तो उसके लिए निर्विशेष ब्रह्मज्योति प्राप्त करना सम्भव होता है।
योग में सिद्ध योगी अपने शरीर को त्यागने के समय तथा स्थान की व्यवस्था कर सकते हैं। अन्यों का इस पर कोई वश नहीं होता। यदि संयोगवश वे शुभ मुहूर्त में शरीर त्यागते हैं, तब तो उनको जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्र में लौटना नहीं पड़ता,
अन्यथा उनके पुनरागमन की सम्भावना बनी रहती है।
किन्तु कृष्णभावनामृत में स्थित शुद्ध भक्त के लिए लौटने का कोई भय नहीं होता,
चाहे वह शुभ मुहूर्त में शरीर त्याग करे या अशुभ, चाहे अकस्मात् मृत्यु हो या स्वेच्छापूर्वक।
References to fire, light, daytime, the bright lunar fortnight, and the sun’s northern journey (Uttarāyaṇa) imply presiding deities that guide the soul’s passage after death.
At the moment of death, the mind carries the soul to its next destination.
If a person departs during such auspicious conditions, either by chance or through yogic control, they may attain impersonal Brahman or liberation from rebirth.
Perfect yogis can choose the exact moment and conditions of death to ensure liberation. Others, who lack such mastery, may still benefit if they depart at the right moment.
However, for a pure devotee in Krishna consciousness, there is no fear of returning, regardless of the time or conditions of death.
Whether it is auspicious or inauspicious, sudden or planned the devotee's path is direct to the Lord’s eternal abode.
