भगवद गीता अध्याय 13 श्लोक 33
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 13 Shlok 33 में आत्मा की तुलना आकाश से की गई है। जैसे आकाश अपनी सूक्ष्मता के कारण सर्वत्र व्याप्त होने पर भी किसी वस्तु से लिप्त नहीं होता, वैसे ही आत्मा शरीर में स्थित रहते हुए भी उससे लिप्त नहीं होती।
श्लोक:
यथा सर्वगतं सौक्ष्म्यादाकाशं नोपलिप्यते ।
सर्वत्रावस्थितो देहे तथात्मा नोपलिप्यते ॥३३॥
Transliteration:
yathā sarva-gataṁ saukṣhmyād ākāśhaṁ nopalipyate
sarvatrāvasthito dehe tathātmā nopalipyate
अर्थ:
यद्यपि आकाश सर्वव्यापी है, किन्तु अपनी सूक्ष्म प्रकृति के कारण, वस्तु से लिप्त नहीं होता। इसी तरह ब्रह्मदृष्टि में स्थित आत्मा, शरीर में स्थित रहते हुए भी, शरीर से लिप्त नहीं होता।
Meaning:
Although the sky pervades everywhere, due to its subtle nature it does not mix with anything. Similarly, the soul, situated in the body, does not become attached to it.
तात्पर्य:
वायु जल, कीचड़, मल तथा अन्य वस्तुओं में प्रवेश करती है, फिर भी वह किसी वस्तु से लिप्त नहीं होती।
इसी प्रकार से जीव विभिन्न प्रकार के शरीरों में स्थित होकर भी अपनी सूक्ष्म प्रकृति के कारण उनसे पृथक बना रहता है।
अतः इन भौतिक आँखों से यह देख पाना असम्भव है कि जीव किस प्रकार इस शरीर के सम्पर्क में है और शरीर के विनष्ट हो जाने पर वह उससे कैसे विलग हो जाता है।
कोई भी विज्ञानी इसे निश्चित नहीं कर सकता।
Air enters into water, mud, excreta, and various other substances, yet it does not become tainted by them.
Similarly, the soul resides in different kinds of bodies, but by its subtle nature it always remains distinct.
Therefore, with material eyes one cannot perceive how the soul is in contact with the body, nor how it departs when the body perishes. Even the most advanced scientist cannot ascertain this truth.
