भगवद गीता अध्याय 15 श्लोक 9
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 15 Shlok 9 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण बताते हैं कि आत्मा जब नया शरीर धारण करता है, तो उसे विशेष इन्द्रियाँ प्राप्त होती हैं। कान, आँख, जीभ, नाक और त्वचा मन के अधीन होकर इन्द्रियविषयों का भोग करती हैं।
श्लोक:
श्रोत्रं चक्षुः स्पर्शनं च रसनं घ्राणमेव च ।
अधिष्ठाय मनश्चायं विषयानुपसेवते ॥९॥
Transliteration:
śhrotraṁ chakṣhuḥ sparśhanaṁ cha rasanaṁ ghrāṇam eva cha
adhiṣhṭhāya manaśh chāyaṁ viṣhayān upasevate
अर्थ:
इस प्रकार दूसरा स्थूल शरीर धारण करके जीव विशेष प्रकार का कान, आँख, जीभ, नाक तथा स्पर्श इन्द्रिय (त्वचा) प्राप्त करता है, जो मन के चारों ओर संपुंजित हैं। इस प्रकार वह इन्द्रियविषयों के एक विशिष्ट समुच्चय का भोग करता है।
Meaning:
When the living entity obtains another gross body, he acquires a specific set of ears, eyes, tongue, nose, and sense of touch, all centered around the mind. In this way, he enjoys a particular group of sense objects.
तात्पर्य:
दूसरे शब्दों में, यदि जीव अपनी चेतना को कुत्तों तथा बिल्लियों के गुणों जैसा बना देता है, तो उसे अगले जन्म में कुत्ते या बिल्ली का शरीर प्राप्त होता है, जिसका वह भोग करता है। चेतना मूलतः जल के समान विमल होती है, लेकिन यदि हम जल में रंग मिला देते हैं, तो उसका रंग बदल जाता है। इसी प्रकार से चेतना भी शुद्ध है, क्योंकि आत्मा शुद्ध है, लेकिन भौतिक गुणों की संगति के अनुसार चेतना बदलती जाती है। वास्तविक चेतना तो कृष्णभावनामृत है, अतः जब कोई कृष्णभावनामृत में स्थित होता है, तो वह शुद्धतर जीवन बिताता है। लेकिन यदि उसकी चेतना किसी भौतिक प्रवृत्ति से मिश्रित हो जाती है, तो अगले जीवन में उसे वैसा ही शरीर मिलता है। यह आवश्यक नहीं है कि उसे पुनः मनुष्य शरीर प्राप्त हो - वह कुत्ता, बिल्ली, सूकर, देवता या चौरासी लाख योनियों में से कोई भी रूप प्राप्त कर सकता है।
In other words, if a living entity develops a consciousness similar to that of dogs and cats, he will attain the body of a dog or cat in the next life and experience existence in that form. Consciousness is originally pure, like clear water, but when mixed with different influences, it changes color. Similarly, the soul is pure, but consciousness becomes transformed according to the association with the modes of nature.
The original state of consciousness is Krishna consciousness. When one remains in Krishna consciousness, one lives a pure and elevated life. However, when one’s consciousness becomes contaminated by material tendencies, one must accept a body accordingly. It is not necessary that one always attains another human body; one may become a dog, a cat, a hog, a demigod, or any one of the 8.4 million species of life, according to one’s consciousness.
