भगवद गीता अध्याय 18 श्लोक 60
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 60 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुन को बताते हैं कि यदि वह मेरे निर्देशानुसार कर्म करने से मना करता है, तो वह स्वभाववश उत्पन्न कर्मों द्वारा बाध्य होकर वही सब कर लेगा।
श्लोक:
स्वभावजेन कौन्तेय निबद्धः स्वेन कर्मणा ।
कर्तुं नेच्छसि यन्मोहात्करिष्यस्यवशोऽपि तत् ॥६०॥
Transliteration:
swbhāva-jena kaunteya nibaddhaḥ svena karmaṇā
kartuṁ nechchhasi yan mohāt kariṣhyasy avaśho ’pi tat
अर्थ:
इस समय तुम मोहवश मेरे निर्देशानुसार कर्म करने से मना कर रहे हो। लेकिन हे कुन्तीपुत्र! तुम अपने ही स्वभाव से उत्पन्न कर्म द्वारा बाध्य होकर वही सब करोगे।
Meaning:
At this moment, due to delusion, you are unwilling to act according to My instructions. Yet, O son of Kunti, you will still be compelled to perform actions arising from your own nature.
तात्पर्य:
यदि कोई परमेश्वर के निर्देशानुसार कर्म करने से मना करता है, तो वह उन गुणों द्वारा कर्म करने के लिए बाध्य होता है, जिनमें वह स्थित होता है। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति प्रकृति के गुणों के विशेष संयोग के वशीभूत है और तदनुसार कर्म करता है। किन्तु जो स्वेच्छा से परमेश्वर के निर्देशानुसार कार्यरत होता है, वही गौरवान्वित होता है।
If a person refuses to act under the Lord’s instructions, he is still compelled to act according to the qualities (gunas) in which he is situated. Every individual is subject to the influence of a particular combination of the material modes of nature and acts accordingly. However, one who willingly and consciously acts under the direction of the Supreme Lord is considered honorable and glorified.
