भगवद गीता अध्याय 18 श्लोक 23
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 23 में श्रीकृष्ण बताते हैं कि जो कर्म आसक्ति, राग-द्वेष से रहित और फल की इच्छा के बिना किया जाता है, वह सात्त्विक कहा जाता है।
श्लोक:
नियतं सङ्गरहितमरागद्वेषतः कृतम्
अफलप्रेप्सुना कर्म यत्तत्सात्त्विकमुच्यते ॥२३॥
Transliteration:
niyataṁ saṅga-rahitam arāga-dveṣhataḥ kṛitam
aphala-prepsunā karma yat tat sāttvikam uchyate
अर्थ:
जो कर्म नियमित है और जो आसक्ति, राग या द्वेष से रहित कर्मफल की चाह के बिना किया जाता है, वह सात्त्विक कहलाता है।
Meaning:
Action performed regularly, without attachment, passion, or hatred, and without desire for the result, is considered in the mode of goodness (sattvic).
तात्पर्य:
विभिन्न आश्रमों तथा समाज के वर्णों के आधार पर शास्त्रों में संस्तुत वृत्तिपरक कर्म, जो अनासक्त भाव से अथवा स्वामित्व के अधिकारों के बिना, प्रेम- घृणा - भावरहित परमात्मा को प्रसन्न करने के लिए आसक्ति या अधिकार की भावना के बिना कृष्णभावनामृत में किये जाते हैं, सात्त्विक कहलाते हैं।
Sattvic actions are those performed according to scriptural injunctions, without selfish attachment or desire for personal gain, and without passion, hatred, or ego. Such actions are done purely for the satisfaction of the Supreme and are rooted in detachment and selflessness.
