भगवद गीता अध्याय 1 श्लोक 44
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 1 Shlok 44 में अर्जुन इस बात पर आश्चर्य व्यक्त करते हैं कि वे और उनके साथी किस प्रकार जघन्य पाप करने के लिए प्रेरित हो रहे हैं, और वे स्वजन को मारने के लिए तत्पर हो गए हैं, केवल राज्यसुख की इच्छा से।
श्लोक:
अहो बत महत्पापं कर्तुं व्यवसिता वयम् ।
यद्राज्यसुखलोभेन हन्तुं स्वजनमुद्यताः ॥४४॥
Transliteration:
aho bata mahat-pāpaṁ kartuṁ vyavasitā vayam
yad rājya-sukha-lobheṇa hantuṁ svajana-mudyatāḥ
अर्थ:
ओह ! कितने आश्चर्य की बात है कि हम सब जघन्य पापकर्म करने के लिए उद्यत हो रहे हैं। राज्यसुख भोगने की इच्छा से प्रेरित होकर हम अपने ही सम्बन्धियों को मारने पर तुले हैं।
Meaning:
Oh! How astonishing it is that we are all preparing to commit such heinous sins. Motivated by the desire for royal pleasures, we are about to kill our own relatives.
तात्पर्य:
स्वार्थ के वशीभूत होकर मनुष्य अपने सगे भाई, बाप या माँ के वध जैसे पापकर्मों में प्रवृत्त हो सकता है। विश्व के इतिहास में ऐसे अनेक उदाहरण मिलते हैं।
किन्तु भगवान् का साधु भक्त होने के कारण अर्जुन सदाचार के प्रति जागरुक है। अतः वह ऐसे कार्यों से बचने का प्रयत्न करता है।
Driven by selfish desires, a person can be led to commit heinous acts such as killing their own brothers, fathers, or mothers. There are many such examples throughout history. However, because Arjuna is a devoted disciple of the Lord, he remains aware of the importance of moral conduct. Thus, he strives to avoid such actions.
