भगवद गीता अध्याय 10 श्लोक 22
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 10 Shlok 22 में श्रीकृष्ण बताते हैं कि वे वेदों में सामवेद, देवताओं में इन्द्र, इन्द्रियों में मन और समस्त जीवों में चेतना के रूप में विद्यमान हैं।
श्लोक:
वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवः।
इन्द्रियाणां मनश्चास्मि भूतानामस्मि चेतना ॥२२॥
Transliteration:
vedānāṁ sāma-vedo ’smi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ
indriyāṇāṁ manaśh chāsmi bhūtānām asmi chetanā
अर्थ:
मैं वेदों में सामवेद हूँ, देवों में स्वर्ग का राजा इन्द्र हूँ, इन्द्रियों में मन हूँ तथा समस्त जीवों में जीवनीशक्ति (चेतना) हूँ।
Meaning:
Of the Vedas I am the Sāma Veda; among the gods I am Indra. Among the senses I am the mind, and in living beings I am consciousness.
तात्पर्य:
पदार्थ तथा जीव में यह अन्तर है कि पदार्थ में जीवों के समान चेतना नहीं होती, अतः यह चेतना परम तथा शाश्वत है। पदार्थों के संयोग से चेतना उत्पन्न नहीं की जा सकती।
The difference between matter and the living being is that matter does not possess consciousness like a living being.
Therefore, consciousness is supreme and eternal. It cannot be produced by the combination of material elements.
