भगवद गीता अध्याय 10 श्लोक 30
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 10 Shlok 30 में श्रीकृष्ण बताते हैं कि वे दैत्यों में प्रह्लाद, समय में काल, पशुओं में सिंह और पक्षियों में गरुड़ स्वरूप हैं।
श्लोक:
प्रह्लादश्चास्मि दैत्यानां कालः कलयतामहम्।
मृगाणां च मृगेन्द्रोऽहं वैनतेयश्च पक्षिणाम् ॥३०॥
Transliteration:
prahlādaśh chāsmi daityānāṁ kālaḥ kalayatām aham
mṛigāṇāṁ cha mṛigendro ’haṁ vainateyaśh cha pakṣhiṇām
अर्थ:
दैत्यों में मैं प्रह्लाद हूँ, समय मापने वालों में मैं काल हूँ। पशुओं में सिंह हूँ और पक्षियों में मैं गरुड़ हूँ।
Meaning:
Among the demons, I am Prahlāda; among those who measure time, I am Time itself. Among wild animals, I am the lion; and among birds, I am Garuḍa, the son of Vinatā.
तात्पर्य:
दिति और अदिति दो बहनें थीं, जिनमें अदिति के पुत्र 'आदित्य' (देवता) और दिति के पुत्र 'दैत्य' (राक्षस) कहलाए। अधिकांश दैत्य भगवान को नहीं मानते थे, लेकिन प्रह्लाद उनमें अपवाद थे वे परम भक्त थे। अतः भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने प्रह्लाद को अपना प्रतिनिधि बताया है।
समय को मापने वाले अनेक तरीके होते हैं, किन्तु अंततः 'काल' ही वह शक्ति है जो हर वस्तु का अंत करता है। इसीलिए काल भी श्रीकृष्ण का ही प्रतिनिधि है।
पशुओं में सिंह सबसे शक्तिशाली है, इसीलिए वह प्रभु का प्रतीक है। पक्षियों में गरुड़ जो भगवान विष्णु के वाहन हैं सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं।
Diti and Aditi were sisters; Aditi’s sons were the gods (Adityas), and Diti’s sons were the demons (Daityas). Though most Daityas were non-devotees, Prahlāda stood out as a pure devotee of Krishna from childhood. Therefore, he represents Krishna among the demons.
Among all forces of control and decay, Time (Kāla) ultimately prevails, thus symbolizing Krishna's power.
Among animals, the lion rules as the most powerful beast, and among countless bird species, Garuḍa the celestial eagle and vehicle of Lord Vishnu is the mightiest and best represents Krishna.
