भगवद गीता अध्याय 12 श्लोक 17
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 12 Shlok 17 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण उस भक्त का वर्णन करते हैं जो न हर्ष करता है, न शोक करता है, न द्वेष करता है, न इच्छा करता है और शुभ-अशुभ कर्मों से ऊपर उठ चुका होता है। ऐसा भक्त उन्हें अत्यंत प्रिय होता है।
श्लोक:
यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति ।
शुभाशुभपरित्यागी भक्तिमान्यः स मे प्रियः ॥१७॥
Transliteration:
yo na hṛiṣhyati na dveṣhṭi na śhochati na kāṅkṣhati
śhubhāśhubha-parityāgī bhaktimān yaḥ sa me priyaḥ
अर्थ:
जो न कभी हर्षित होता है, न शोक करता है, जो न तो पछताता है, न इच्छा करता है, तथा जो शुभ तथा अशुभ दोनों प्रकार की वस्तुओं का परित्याग कर देता है, ऐसा भक्त मुझे अत्यन्त प्रिय है।
Meaning:
He who neither rejoices nor hates, neither laments nor desires, and who renounces both good and evil actions such a devoted person is very dear to Me.
तात्पर्य:
शुद्ध भक्त भौतिक लाभ से न तो हर्षित होता है और न हानि से दुःखी होता है, वह पुत्र या शिष्य की प्राप्ति के लिए न तो उत्सुक रहता है, न ही उनके न मिलने पर दुःखी होता है। वह अपनी किसी प्रिय वस्तु के खो जाने पर उसके लिए पछताता नहीं। इसी प्रकार यदि उसे अभीप्सित की प्राप्ति नहीं हो पाती तो वह दुःखी नहीं होता।
वह समस्त प्रकार के शुभ, अशुभ तथा पापकर्मों से सदैव परे रहता है। वह परमेश्वर की प्रसन्नता के लिए बड़ी से बड़ी विपत्ति सहने को तैयार रहता है। भक्ति के पालन में उसके लिए कुछ भी बाधक नहीं बनता। ऐसा भक्त कृष्ण को अतिशय प्रिय होता है।
A pure devotee is neither delighted by material gain nor distressed by loss. He does not eagerly seek a son or disciple, nor does he grieve if they are not obtained. If he loses something dear to him, he does not lament; similarly, if he fails to attain what he desires, he does not become sad. Such a devotee remains free from all auspicious and inauspicious karmic reactions. He is willing to endure the greatest hardship for the satisfaction of the Supreme Lord. Nothing becomes an obstacle in the path of his devotion. Such a devotee is exceedingly dear to Krishna.
