भगवद गीता अध्याय 18 श्लोक 16
Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 16 में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं कि जो मनुष्य पाँच कारणों को न मानकर अपने को ही एकमात्र कर्ता समझता है, वह वास्तव में अविवेकी है और सत्य को नहीं देख पाता।
श्लोक:
तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु यः ।
पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मतिः ॥१६॥
Transliteration:
tatraivaṁ sati kartāram ātmānaṁ kevalaṁ tu yaḥ
paśhyaty akṛita-buddhitvān na sa paśhyati durmatiḥ
अर्थ:
अतएव जो इन पाँचों कारणों को न मानकर अपने आपको ही एकमात्र कर्ता मानता है, वह निश्चय ही बहुत बुद्धिमान नहीं होता और वस्तुओं को सही रूप में नहीं देख सकता।
Meaning:
Therefore, one who disregards these five causes and considers himself alone to be the doer is certainly not intelligent and does not perceive things as they are.
तात्पर्य:
मूर्ख व्यक्ति यह नहीं समझता कि परमात्मा उसके अन्तर में मित्र रूप में बैठा है और उसके कर्मों का संचालन कर रहा है। यद्यपि स्थान, कर्ता, चेष्टा तथा इन्द्रियाँ भौतिक कारण हैं, लेकिन अन्तिम (मुख्य) कारण तो स्वयं भगवान् हैं। अतएव मनुष्य को चाहिए कि केवल चार भौतिक कारणों को ही न देखे, अपितु परम सक्षम कारण को भी देखे। जो परमेश्वर को नहीं देखता, वह अपने आपको ही कर्ता मानता है।
A foolish person does not understand that the Supersoul, as a friend within the heart, directs his activities. Although place, performer, endeavor, and senses are material causes, the ultimate cause is the Supreme Lord Himself. Therefore, one should not merely acknowledge the four material causes but also recognize the supreme efficient cause. One who ignores God and sees himself as the sole doer is misled and lacks true intelligence.
